Things that will happen in British coverage of the superbowl

  • Explaining the rules of the NFL eventhough it’s the last game of the season and has been shown in the country for over 30 years.
  • Awkward interviews with players. Usually ones with really loose connections to England. This year it’s Sean Payton who used to play for Leicester.
  • Awkward 2 minute analysis when America goes to a commercial break.
  • A presenter who is delighted to have work and isn’t covering bowls.
  • The offer of the international commentary, which is only justified when it is the alternative to Joe Buck.
  • A million mentions of how it is more than just a sporting event.
