Finally got round to watching Catfish and I really hope it’s a complete fabrication. The two speeches by Angela and her husband towards the end of the film seem very unlikely though so maybe it is just nonsense. If it is it’s an incredibly well put together narrative that’s really well acted. If not, then they got really, really lucky and fudged the story like any other documentary.
I just watched somersault which was very enjoyable. It’s an indie film starring a pretty girl on a journey of self discovery so there is basically no way I couldn’t not like it. My favourite criticism on lovefilm was that at time the camera was wobbly. Let’s hope they stick to hollywood blockbusters from now on. The films from 2004 and what stands out now and didn’t the first time I watched it is the two leads. Abbie Cornish and Sam Worthington are the 2 main characters and both of them are now about to become major stars. Worthington will probably be the most famous person in the world by next year. In somersault neither actor has the polished look they have now and judging by imdb this film began their careers. What’s strange is that the films writer and director appears to have done nothing since whilst Worthington is in the biggest film of the year.
Isn’t it lucky I have an iPhone to post stuff like this now?
